IP... WHAT'S THAT?
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device. There are two differents versions:
-
IPv4: Is the 4th version of IP that has 2 to the 32th power combinations/IP adresses. Each IPv4 adress has 32 bits (4 bytes). These bits are distributed in 4 groups of 8 bits:
-
IPv6: Is the 6th version of IP that has 16 to the 32th power combinations/IP adresses. With this version we can codify all the objects of the "Internet of Things". IoT is a network of objects which have a software that allows to identify the object.
Each IPv6 adress has 128 bits (16 bytes). This bits are distributed in 8 groups of 16 bits:
Some people want to hide their IP adresses... But why? Here you have five reasons:
-
Downloading ilegal things.
-
Looking private information.
-
Having secret information about for example terrorist groups.
-
